Imagine it. You live with your family. A letter comes in the mail. It tells you that one of you is a frakkin skin-job, a dirty Cylon!
Don’t say you haven’t thought about it. We all know you have. Now you can watch it play out. As usual, additional episodes inside. Be sure to get through them all, episode 1.4 is by far the best!
Those of you that know me know that I love Zombies. Well, maybe love isn’t the right word. I hate Zombies. They scare me. Zombies and Robots. When the world comes to an end, I am pretty sure one of those two are going to be the cause. For that reason, I have dedicated myself to keeping as up to date on all Zombie and Robot news around the nation. For instance, did you all know that Robots are now walking the fashion catwalks? It’s true! You can read about it HERE. What’s next, robots babysitting your children? That’s just a stone-throw away from robots trapping you in your home and demanding that you stay put while the rest of their robot cousins overthrow all the worlds governments and take control of all the weapons of mass destruction so they can launch them on your head.
It could happen. It is happening.
Take for instance this video found on the streets of LA. Apparently there has been a Zombie outbreak in Los Angeles and the government has quarantined the entire city. There are some people on a reality show that are broadcasting it all for everyone to watch.
It could happen… As usual, more episodes after the break!
What do you get when you add a 70’s cop spoof, a small dude, ninja’s, tang, and an ice cream bimbo?
You get one fantastic voyage called “The Lost Archives of Quincy Taylor”
Really, there isn’t much else I can say about this one. It’s solid. Do yourself a favor and start watching. Episodes 2 and 3 are inside.
This weeks Bad Video Friday video is the new series “Hold Please”. At first glance you might think I am wrong… There’s nothing wrong with this series! At first glance, you’d be right. It is one nicely polished piece of work.
But then it gets going and the main character tells us she’s an actress. Really!?! Do we have ANOTHER web series about an actress trying to make it?
And what kind of receptionist makes $22.00 an hour?
And why does the audio sound like that? Hear that buzz? There’s no room tone, god that gets annoying.
And why does the first episode end right after the interview? I mean, how does that motivate me to watch episode 2? Is it going to let me down with no story as well?
If you want, episode 2 is after the break.
As I’m sure you gathered from the post title, I have decided to dedicate every Friday to a video, or series of videos, that I find to be excruciatingly bad.
That’s right. Bad.
I know I promised that ClaytonBoen.com would be dedicated to the great talent found on the Internet, but I’m finding that I learn more from bad works of art than I do from good ones. You can view something good and enjoy it, but when you view something bad there’s something inside of you that had to pick it apart. Something that forces you to say to yourself, “Self, I never want to do what these people did. It’s so bad! I need to figure out what they did wrong so I NEVER do it myself.
So in the inaugural week of Bad Video Friday, I present to you: “Couch Cases”
“Couch Cases” tries to mimic successful shows like “In Treatment” and “Web Therapy”. It doesn’t do a very good job.
But instead of me talking about why its so bad, I want to invite you all to talk about it. What did they do wrong? What would you have done differently? If you’d like, there are a few more episodes inside the post… Watch them all, if you can (I couldn’t).
If you were to make a top 10 list of the funniest things, I am guessing “old people” would be on there somewhere. I mean, they’re just so cute, you can’t help but laugh when they do… well… almost anything!
Hrm… Maybe that’s just me…
Anyway, I present to you, Old Jews Telling Jokes!
Sure, it’s hard getting to the punchline, but once you’re there it’s worth it!
(more videos inside)
Is there any humor in this world better than potty humor?
This clip has animation, video games, popular culture, and potty humor all rolled into one! How could a web series get any better!? (no really, if it does, I want to know about it!)
“Mr. Deity — Episode 1: Mr. Deity and the Evil”
Have you ever wondered why all the evil in the world exists? I mean, wouldn’t God, being all powerful, have eliminated evil from the world so that we, his children, could lead wonderful fulfilling lives?
God has a reason for everything he does. Watch episode 1 of “Mr. Deity” to find out why evil exists. Then keep watching until you realize you haven’t eaten for six hours.
I’ve been known to spend an absurd amount of time playing video games, but MMORPG (did I even get that right?) style games have never really attracted me. Maybe it’s because there really isn’t a good Star Wars MMORPG in existence, at least, not yet.
Nevertheless, The Guild is one of my favorite web series of all time. The series has won a number of awards including the 2007 Best Series by Yahoo! and the 2008 YouTube awards.
The awards won’t stop coming, and for good reason! Season 1 of The Guild was a joy to watch, but it has really grown its legs with the start of Season 2 (currently underway). Headed by Felicia Day (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog) The Guild is filled with a cast of really talented actors.
If you slightly like this episode, you’ll be loving it by the end.
Afterworld is probably the best web series from 2008. It spans about 130 episodes and the story crosses the entire of the United States. It is by far no small feat, this isn’t a group of friends that just decided to make something… This is special.
Don’t start watching it unless you’ve got the time to watch all 130 episodes. If you do watch the first episode, you can find the rest of them HERE.
